Position Overview:

Join West Cancer Center as a Pharmacist Specialist Dual, delivering precise and timely drug therapy alongside up-to-date drug information and utilization reviews. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal patient care through expert medication management within the oncology setting. Our Pharmacist Specialist Dual position will work a daytime schedule, with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirms correct dosing and appropriateness of therapy.
  • Evaluate and verify the physician's plan of care, treatment plan, drugs, doses, and labs for therapeutic appropriateness.
  • Prepares chemotherapy and other IV drugs for administration as required.
  • Researches and interprets claims issues while ensuring good, accurate and timely customer service for our patients and providers.

Qualifications:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy AND Completion of Oncology Pharmacy curriculum within 1 year of hire if not BCOP
  • Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and Completion of an ASHP PGY1 accredited residency program.
  • 1-2 years related experience or 5-7 years related experience and/or training.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in TN, MS, AR
