NCCAP AmeriCorps Team - Greater Wausau Area (minimum time)

"Our mission is to enhance the educational opportunities and positive interactions of potentially at-risk children, youth and their families." AmeriCorps members are placed at various non-profit agencies and the school district in summer minimum-time (300 hours) positions. Members serve students that are academically at risk &/or from low-income families & housholds. Members also plan & participate in team community service projects. Member meetings & training sessions provide members with opportunities to increase knowledge and leadership skills. Service at the host sites allows exploration and experience in potential careers, activity planning, and serving as a role model for youth. Member Duties : AmeriCorps members will tutor and mentor economically dis-advantaged students, grades K-12 at various sites around Wausau, WI.
