Job Description:

SUMMARY

Provides general clerical and administrative support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates initiative in maximizing efficiency of unit operations and ability to prioritize workflow.

• Responds to inquiries on behalf of the unit utilizing customer-focused interpersonal skills, and assists as required.

• Screens incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible.

• Prepares memorandums outlining and explaining operating procedures, monitors compliance, assists with problem resolution as necessary.

• Processes travel arrangements for staff in the unit, including travel vouchers, check requests and related documents. Also monitors in-county travel and ensures appropriate allocation of funds.

• Prepares general correspondence of all kinds and may be required to prepare documents and basic spreadsheets as needed using current technology employed by the college.

• May be required to prepare/maintain/distribute general purpose logs and other records in support of unit operations.

• Develops detailed knowledge of unit operations and procedures and maintains appropriate confidentiality of information and unit affairs. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Anticipates and meets all customer needs accurately, professionally, and with a commitment to customer satisfaction.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

• Minimum of one year of related secretarial/clerical experience and/or training

• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of regular work

• Keyboarding, and basic grammar and math skills

• Standard level skills in word processing (MS Word) and spreadsheet applications (MS Excel)

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

• Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships.

• Must have sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population

Target Hiring Rate: Minimum salary $15.40/Hourly
