JOB SUMMARY

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:

To maintain and repair the district's equipment, facilities and utility systems in a condition which helps establish an effective learning environment for the district's students. This is an entry level position. All maintenance personnel begin at this level. Reports to District Facilities Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in the renovation and additions to the district facilities.
Repair and maintain the district's utility systems.
Repair and maintain district equipment, machines and appliances.
Perform routine ground or custodial work as requested.
Work effectively with minimal supervision.
Maintain tools and equipment used in construction and maintenance work.
Perform skilled work in several repair and maintenance trade areas.
Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
Maintain accurate records of work performed.
Fulfill other related duties as assigned.
Fulfill performance standards identified in the evaluation process as required by the position.
Fulfill working conditions and physical effort listed below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Able to relate well to students, staff and public.
Read, understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions.
Adhere to the federal requirements of a drug-free work place.
Knowledge of tools, operations and terms used in construction and maintenance work.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to use District email.
Possess or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
Possess or be able to obtain an Oregon Driver's License.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Length of Year: 260 days Length of Day: 8 hours.
Possess the physical ability to regularly attend work and fulfill the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Travel between schools, even during times of inclement weather.
Lift, move, or be able to carry objects weighing 60 lbs.
Responsibilities require the employee be able to stand for long periods of time, both indoors and outdoors, even during times of inclement weather.
