Athletics Announcer

Purpose of the Position:

The Athletics Announcer will provide public address or broadcast commentary at UAH athletics events, including volleyball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and special events.

Duties/Responsibilities

* In-game announcing as either public address or broadcast commentary
* Pregame preparation including accessing statistics, starting lineups and researching teams at competition
* In-game assistance with coordinating music, promotions and advertising reads.
* Assistance postgame in breaking down public address or broadcasting equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

* High school education or equivalent.
* Prior history of working sporting events.
* Prior history of public speaking
* Effective interpersonal communication skills.
* Must understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.

Desired Qualifications:

* Prior history as a public address announcer at athletics events
* Prior history as a broadcast commentator at athletics events
* Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, students, coaches, and administrators.
* Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
