Job Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-anesthesia assessments, including reviewing patient history, conducting physical exams and discussing anesthesia plans with patients.
- Administer anesthesia under the supervision of a licensed anesthesiologist, including general, regional and monitored anesthesia care.
- Provide continuous patient monitoring and anesthesia adjustments during procedures.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, including managing any complications related to anesthesia.
- Ensure continuity of care by collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Provide immediate response for anesthesia-related emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Skills
- Strong understanding and application of anesthesia techniques and practices in various surgical settings.
- Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in using anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices.
- Skilled in meticulously monitoring patient vitals and managing anesthesia levels.
- Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Master's-level degree in an anesthesiologist assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
License & Certifications
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Indiana .
- Certain life support certifications may be required for various assignments.
Experience
