Position Summary:

To accurately prepare sterile radiopharmaceutical products in compliance with FDA, USP and ALBOP requirements, as well as performing all cleaning and proper techniques required in order to be FDA and USP compliant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assists radiopharmacist and other pharmacy staff in preparing facility for daily operations through cleaning, equipment and quality control testing.
* Assists radiopharmacist with preparing radiopharmaceutical preparations for clinical and research purposes
* Accurately prepares sterile radiopharmaceutical preparations such as vials, syringes, or other using as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principals and aseptic techniques
* Understand safety precautions for working with radioactive materials to ensure personal, patient, and staff safety,
* Ensures materials are ordered, checked in, and inventoried in timely manner.
* Assesses risk points and identifies opportunities for quality and process improvements.
* Makes recommendations to supervisor to improve processes or services provided by department.
* Supports supervisor through documentation and reporting of equipment, personnel, or system issues.
* Ensures cleaning and garbing is performed according to radiopharmacy SOP.
* Ensures daily, weekly, monthly, and cleaning and disinfecting of the clean rooms and ISO PECs are completed and documented.
* Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $16.50 - $24.00

High School diploma or GED required. Alabama Pharmacy Technician license in good standing required. Currently registered as a pharmacy technician by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire. Currently certified as an Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other nationally recognized and accredited certification program requiring examination.

* Hard skills: Precise measurements, Microsoft Office, Acuity with numbers, Problem-solving skills
* Experience working with radioactive materials a plus.
* Background in sterile compounding of pharmaceuticals.
* Manual dexterity and ability to lift 50 Ibs of weight.
* Understanding of radiopharmaceutical operations a plus.
* Ability to work well with others.
* Detail oriented.
* Ability to understand and follow regulations. Willingness to work with radioactive materials essential.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
* Problem solving skills and acuity with numbers.
* Knowledge of ordering, receiving and inventorying materials for human use pharmaceuticals.
