Respiratory Supervisor Job Description

REPORTS TO:  Director of Respiratory

Position Summary:  Responsible for direct care, equipment and supply management and other respiratory duties relevant to deliver quality care in a safe environment according to the interdisciplinary plan approach.

Qualifications:

1.       Current state of Florida licensure CRT/RRT credentials.

2.      Acute care and or long term care for Pediatric patients

3.      CPR certification

4.      Proficient in Ventilator management

5.      Ability to communicate effectively.

6.      Must demonstrate good judgment and patience with others

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

1.       Report significant events.

2.      Coordinate respiratory schedule and staffing requirements

3.      Assist in turning, positioning and lifting residents

4.      Assist with treatments.

5.      Maintain accurate documentation

6.      Help maintain supply room and report on levels of soft goods.

7.      Sign off on E cart and refrigerator

8.      Designate/help with weekly and monthly equipment changes

9.      Check patient orders and report issues/discrepancies to Director

1.  Check computer for open flow sheets daily and have correct personnel close them.

1.  Monitor and report trach inventory and compare it to the patient requirements

1.  Complete competencies for nurses and cna’s.

1.  Organize the oxygen room.

1.  Authority to issue warnings and write ups when appropriate.

1.  Call pharmacy to order meds and to confirm delivery of meds.

1.  May need to take an assignment when staffing issues arise.

1.  Any other duties/ responsibilities delegated by the director of respiratory
