* JOB SUMMARY
* Supports the current operations of the office/clinic by providing services to patients. Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and inter-multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.




* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* COMPLETES REQUESTS
* Under the direction of the physicians calling all patients with results of lab and test results
* prescription refills and new orders using e prescribing when available.






* OPTIMIZES PATIENTS' SATISFACTION, PROVIDER TIME, AND TREATMENT ROOM UTILIZATION
* Assist physicians with procedures, administering medications as ordered, wound care.


* Assisting CTA's (Care Team Associates) as needed by measuring and recording vital signs
* preparing treatment rooms for patient examinations


* scheduling appointment for special testing and referrals.




* Completing documentation in patient paper or electronic charts.


* Ensuring physician completes necessary paperwork for patient or billing department in an appropriate time frame.




* PROVIDES PATIENT CARE
* By recognizing and meeting the basic needs of the client, giving nursing care under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse or licensed physician to clients in routine nursing situations
* reviewing policy and procedures prior to performing responsibilities which are unfamiliar.




* Provide patient education as needed




* ASSURES QUALITY OF CARE
* By enforcing adherence to State Board of Nursing and State Nurse Practice Act requirements and to other governing agency regulations
* by writing and updating policies and procedures


* by adhering to all infection control practices


* by sterilizing rooms, equipment and supplies


* by maintaining exposure control plan


* by complying with Environment of Care policies


* by enforcing medication administration policies and procedures, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.




* Maintain all regulatory logs




* COMFORTS PATIENTS
* By anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions.




* ENSURES AVAILABILITY OF TREATMENT INFORMATION
* By filing and retrieving patient records.


* Reviewing lab./special test results with patients, answering routine nursing questions.


* Ordering and inventory control of all injection drugs as needed.




* HELPS PATIENTS IN DISTRESS
* By responding to emergencies.




* PROTECTS PATIENTS' RIGHTS
* By maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.




* CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORT
* By assisting staff to fill patient needs.




* ESTABLISHES A COMPASSIONATE ENVIRONMENT
* By providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and families and other associates.




* RESOLVES PATIENT PROBLEMS AND NEEDS
* By utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies and conflict resolution strategies under the supervision of the RN.




* MAINTAINS SAFE AND CLEAN WORKING ENVIRONMENT
* By adhering to infection control policies
* following processes for medication and controlled substance administration and handling


* keeping patient environment free of clutter


* reporting unsafe equipment or situations according to policy.








* QUALIFICATIONS
