Responsibilities

* Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support patient care.
* Monitor patients at timed intervals, document data as directed, and report observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse.
* Obtain and record patients vital signs accurately.
* Respond promptly to all call lights.
* Assist patients with mobility and basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs.
* Provide basic patient transport.
* Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
* Participate in purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report as directed.
* Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to assigned unit.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent


* Basic Life Support certification


* Knowledge of patient assistance and care procedures



Preferred Job Requirements:

* One-year of experience in healthcare directly supporting patients
* Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
* Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
