Hours: Weekdays, 8:00PM-6:30AM, 9:30PM-8:00AM. Weekends: 8:00PM-7:30AM, 9:30PM-9:00AM

Two plus years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Preferred qualifications:

Board certification in pharmacotherapy or other relevant specialty.

Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems.

Knowledge of medication reconciliation processes and best practices.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication order.

* Review and assess medications order to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
* Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
* Compound and dispense medication for accurate delivery to patients.
* Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
* Communicate with physician and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
* Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
* Assist with academic function such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
* May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
* Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

* Pharmacist credentialed from the Maryland Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

* Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Additional Preferences

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
* Current licensure as a pharmacist in the state of practice.
* Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and medication therapy management.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
* Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
* Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and technology.
* Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
