JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The School Based ACCESS Program (SBAP) assistant is responsible for assisting the coordinator in the daily operation of the SBAP program which may include the Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) Roster and the billing system for the State vendor for the IU.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the SBAP coordinator and Human Resources department to verify that necessary staff certifications for billing are up to date in the state system for billing.
  • Assist the Coordinator with record maintenance and records review for filing and retirement in accordance with records retention policy.
  • Assist the Coordinator with provider roster maintenance in the state billing system and identify new eligible or potentially eligible students.
  • Prepare files for Medical Authorization review by the IU physician.
  • Assist the Coordinator with the IEP ratio for the Annual Cost Settlement.
  • Enter and/or approve billable service logs in the state system for billing for PCA, Nursing, and Transportation.
  • Attend Training sessions, regional meetings, and focus group sessions to stay up to date with program regulations and guidance.
  • Maintain a filing system for all required documentation, and retire old records in accordance with records retention policy.
  • Act as a resource to other ACCESS Staff, Teacher, Parents, and Providers on the program.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 260-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours are dependent on the needs of the districts. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel: Little travel to client locations is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Level of Degree:

  • High School Diploma (Associates Degree preferred ) , experience with Medicaid billing particularly with the School Based ACCESS program a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate to solve problems.
  • Strong Technology skills with various applications and databases.
  • Ability to schedule time to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with or without general supervision.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable) : Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.
