Position Goal

Assist Physician(s) in Clinic with patient care activities and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs, entering patient information into the medical management system and complete administrative duties as required.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
  • Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
  • Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Stocks necessary supplies.
  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  • Assists and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Provides back up support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g.; suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked.

Required:
  • None

Preferred:
  • One-year experience as a Radiology Technologist.
  • One-year experience as Medical Assistant

Education:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of course work in radiologic technology required for certification and licensure.

Special Qualifications:
Required:
  • Current ARRT certification or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) certification
  • Current FL state licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of radiographic technique
  • Knowledge of PACS
  • Vast knowledge of muskuloskeletal anatomy.
  • Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
  • This position may require travel to and from satellite clinics as assigned. Please note, if assigned for travel, this position will require a valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire (MVR will be screened on an annual basis).
