Description

Performs a variety of laboratory tests, many of which involve numerous steps and techniques, and require use of professional judgment. Tests are performed in Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Professional application of the theories and techniques of clinical laboratory science (including evaluation of quality control data) are used to produce reliable test results which aid the clinician in diagnosis and treatment. Has full access to patient health information.

Schedule: PRN hours vary

Requirements

  • Medical Laboratory Technician: Must have an Associate's Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician and be registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT.
  • Medical Technologist: Must have at least sixty semester hours of college with training in a certified Medical Technology training program. Must be currently registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT.
  • The individual must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to serve, without prejudice or judgment, clients with differing lifestyles, race, economic status, age, or religious affiliation.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the medial practice including equipment and instruments; safety hazards and precautions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, multi-task and excellent customer service skills.
