THE ROLE

Project Controller works with Project Manager to ensure a project stays within budget and gets delivered on time. Help identify areas of improvement for project operations by closely monitoring a project's progress. Project Controller oversees a project's revenues and expenses to ensure it stays within budget.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Common job duties for a project controller may include:

* Establish and maintain a Portfolio Master Schedule including monitoring, status reporting and revisions as required.
* Reviewing a project's deadlines and budget with the project manager.
* Coordinating payments to subcontractors and vendors.
* Oversee, identify plan deviations, and recommend resolution for project manager.
* Create project progress reports and make recommendations for ways to improve the project's progress.
* Analysing performance data to establish performance metrics.
* Develop risk mitigations.
* Handle and manage the intake, verification, and storage of documents.
* Working closely with technical experts, project leads and project managers in planning, creating, and managing project schedules.
* Maintain current and forecasted Cash Flow data when compared to projected Cash Flow.
* Offering coaching and guidance to junior team members.
* Represent the team as a key contract, liaising with project managers and other stakeholders.
* Comparing ongoing project activities with the project management plan and project performance baseline.
* Anticipate potential problems and recommend resolution for project manager.
* Manage project controls team.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's Degree required, a concentration in Construction Management, Engineering, Science or Business Administrator.
* More than five years in a similar role.
* Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
* Good analytical and planning skills.
* Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications
* Proficiency in the use of project scheduling software such as MS project is a requirement.
* Good working ethics and ability to treat documents with confidentiality.
* Some exposure to metallurgical processes desire.
* Highly demonstrated ability in conceptual and practical planning skills
* Strong working ability with MS Office (Excel, spreadsheets, project planners, charting etc.)
* Experience in SAP preferred.
