SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST (SPECIAL EDUCATION)
NEWARK TECH

The Essex County Schools of Technology is seeking a 10-month School Psychologist at Newark Tech for the 2023-24 school year.

Position Purpose

- Under the School Principal's supervision, the School Psychologist supports students' emotional well-being through counseling, assessments, and collaboration with educators and parents. Implements evidence-based interventions, maintains confidential records, and promotes a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold New Jersey School Psychology certification #3100
  • Case manages assigned students, coordinates instruction and related services as per the IEP
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education and demonstrated ability to effectively provide testing, psychological evaluation, and counseling services
  • Offers consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents in support of student academic and social-emotional progress
  • Experience working with students with Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, Behavioral Disabilities, and ADHD preferred
  • Must complete a criminal history background check
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Terms of Employment
This opening is for a full-time position, 10-months of the year. The position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement by and between the Board of Education and the Essex County Vocational Education Association.
Compensation
(2022-2023 contractual rate) Contract for 2023-2024 is currently under negotiation.
