American Medical Staffing (AMS) puts you first, and we are currently seeking an LPN to join our corrections medical team in Waverly, Virginia
Correctional LPN Job Details:
- Pay Rate: $ 1,168 to $1,368
- Schedule: 7 - 7
- Available Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week
- Start Date: Two weeks from offer
- Located In: Waverly, Virginia
- Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid LPN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a correctional care setting, you'll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:
- Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision on RNs or physicians.
- Monitoring patients vitals and symptoms-administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by a physician and monitor for adverse reactions to medications
- Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed
- Documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely
- Educating patients on self-care techniques and promoting health education within the correctional facility
