We are currently seeking candidates to fill aChemist I role. The Chemist I will support the advancement of new product development endeavors, including laboratory work and material development, as well as to contribute to longer-term research projects.It entails recognizing, assessing, and highlighting the technical viability of pioneering technologies to propel growth and innovation within Flexcon.Evaluating the market potential of products and processes, along with delivering technical appraisals for emerging business opportunities involving adhesives, films, laminates, coatings, and roll-to-roll processing of multilayer structures, are fundamental duties of this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of success in a laboratory setting.

What will you do in this role?

  • Support New Product Development and research projects byidentifying, assessing, and developing new materials based on stage gate decisions considering customers' needs and wants and aligning them with the company's ability to source, produce, and market the product.
  • Design experiments, develop methodologies, and analyze results.
  • Conduct chemical analyses using a variety of techniques and instrumentation.
  • Interpret analytical data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development efforts, troubleshoot issues, and optimize processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to chemistry and related fields.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, laboratory procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property, including patents, publications, and technical reports.
  • Participate in meetings, presentations, and conferences to share findings and contribute to the scientific community.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • B.S. in Chemistry required.
  • 0-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
  • 5% travel to external sites to conduct trials, customers or vendors visit and attending conferences.
