Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Description

Under general supervision, performs high-quality adult echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, vascular ultrasounds, and assists with a transesophageal echocardiogram, Tee( if applicable ) exams in Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accredited departments. Individuals in this position will work closely with cardiologists and technologists

The Lead Sonographer is responsible for providing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other interdisciplinary personnel. An Ultrasound Tech should have knowledge of human anatomy and spatial relationships of all cardiac and vascular structures.

This position is responsible for overseeing all work done in echo/vascular labs as well as the orientation of new staff members. This position also helps department establish new programs and keeps the program up to date with current standards.

Job Requirements

* Registered in both adult echocardiography (RCS or RDCS) and vascular ultrasound (RVS or RVT)
* Graduated from an accredited school of Ultrasound/Sonography
* Must have current knowledge of all aspects of cardiac and vascular sonography and IAC standards
