This is a Part-time position paid bi-weekly for all hours and shifts worked as follows:

$17 per hour - 1st Shift; 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

$18 per hour - 2nd Shift; 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

$19.00 per hour - 3rd Shift; 11pm - 7:00 am.

About Harbor Care Group Homes:

Nestled into quiet neighborhoods throughout New Hampshire are Harbor Care communal living homes for those with disabilities. The two longest-running of these are both in Nashua: The Betty Hall House on Winter Street, and the Betty Winberg House on Chestnut Street. These two residences are "group homes," which means they operate at a higher level of care than other communal living residences.

Job Summary:

The typical day is busy in a group home. Staff administer medications and help residents manage symptoms of their illness. Residents have chores to perform, and those who can manage it clean their rooms themselves. Support Staff help residents prepare meals and perform other daily tasks. Personal Care Support Providers from Harbor Care's homecare agency Healthy at Home also help residents who need assistance with bathing, dressing, and cleaning their rooms.

Educational and Professional

* Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.
* Ability to pass a Medication Training Class.
* Ability to pass medication upon certification.

Responsibilities

* Ensure safety and well-fare of all residents and clients.
* Follow appropriate procedures for emergency response
* Notify on-call manager immediately of any urgent/emergent issues or incidents
* Treats all residents and colleagues in a positive and professional manner
* Primary functions include activities in which incumbent must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to clients, and coworkers
* Assist with in-office paperwork, data entry and/or copying
* Assist with consumer file maintenance.
* Assist with compiling data for and/or assist with writing grants for the program

Inventory

* Attend staff meetings and/or trainings as required
* Requires flexibility with schedule
* Complete any other special projects assigned by Program Manager (or designee)

Requirements

* Must be 18 years of age or older

Knowledge/Abilities/Requirements

* Residential housing experience
* Computer skills required
* Ability to interface well with others
* Candidate should possess sound judgment and excellent boundary skills
* Physical requirements include ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; pick, pinch, type or otherwise work primarily with fingers
* Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word
* Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discrimination in sound
* Ability to perform repetitive or routine duties working from detailed instructions and under standard procedures
* Requires making decisions
* Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or excessive stress over a reasonable length of time
* Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations
* Ability to assist consumers in accessing community services (transporting to other agencies)
* Knowledge of major mental illnesses and appropriate treatment interventions
* Knowledge, understanding and application of appropriate treatment interventions and ethical standards
