BASIC FUNCTION: The Medical Biller facilitates the billing of insurance companies for all clinic and clinic-based physician bills and facility bills.

RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Completes and verifies ICD-10 coding.
  • Inputs and maintains all payment records in database system.
  • Compiles amounts owed and pursues collection and follows up on all claims until payment is made by insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Follows up on denied and rejected Medicare and Medicaid claims.
  • Appeals claims to Medicare and Medicaid. Performs other work associated with the billing process.
  • Fills in for Account Representatives at times.
  • Other duties include but are not limited to preparing accounts for cost reports, reviewing, researching, coding, and generating third party billing for GRHD.
  • Cross trains with other positions in the business office.
  • Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Post high school courses in insurance billing, data processing and medical terminology preferred.
  • Critical Access Medicare / Medicaid billing experience highly preferred.
  • One year prior experience in billing of third party insurances preferred.

SALARY INFORMATION :

$19.50 - $21.53 Dependent on Experience

Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
