JOB GOAL
- To promote understanding and a winning philosophy of athletic competition. Coaching ability, a desire to work as cheer coach, and knowledge related to rules, regulations, and strategies for cheer are required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Proven ability to work with students, coaches, administrators and parents
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. (Major sports)
- The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
- The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
- Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Twin Falls School Districts' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports program.
- Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
- Assists the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for tournament and special sport events.
- Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.
- Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites.
- Is accountable for all equipment and collects the cost of any equipment lost or not returned.
- Arranges for issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment and submits annual inventory and current records concerning same.
- Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct.
This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment "at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
