Job Description

Would you enjoy the opportunity to be a leader in the largest and fastest growing health system in Northwest Arkansas? If so, you may be the person we need to Direct the Laboratory at Northwest Medical Center - Bentonville. In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and manage a team of lab employees. The Director of Laboratory will be a strong partner for our physician partners by leading the team to provide timely and high quality lab services.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

* Overseeing a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure the efficient operation of the clinical laboratory and compliance with corporate policies.
* Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the work of the clinical laboratory and coordinating it with the other areas of the hospital
* Acting as the technical supervisor for clinical laboratory functions off site and owned by the hospital
* Assuring that the laboratory meets all regulatory requirements (ADP, ABABA, JCAHO, CELIA)
* Hiring and managing performance of direct reports

Key qualifications include:

* Bachelors degree in medical technology, chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW); or employment as a laboratory supervisor prior to January 1, 1995 in a hospital licensed by the Dept. of Health.
* 5+ years of experience in this field or a highly related one preferred
* 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
* MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), CLS (NCA), HEW or equivalent is preferred
