Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Clinical Preceptor (CP) isresponsible for all aspects of the clinical education portion of the program, includingorganization, ongoing review and revision, planning for and development ofclinical affiliates, and the general effectiveness of the clinical educationexperience. The CP devotes sufficienttime to the program ensuring that the educational and administrativeresponsibilities are met, while ensuring students are supervised through theprogram's clinical education experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares and delivers lectures to students on various topics in relation to a specific discipline
  • Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments and papers
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, speaking with colleagues and participating in professional conferences
  • Maintains student attendance records, grades and other required records
  • Initiates, facilitates and moderates classroom discussions
  • As needed, advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues
  • Plans, evaluates and revises curricula, course content and course materials and methods of instruction
  • Compiles, administers and grades examinations
  • Collaborates with colleagues to address teaching and research issues
  • Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students
  • Selects and obtains materials and supplies such as textbooks and laboratory equipment
  • Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, department matters and academic issues
  • Participates in campus and community events
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Registered and certified in nuclear medicine technology from national certification board
  • Minimum of two years post-certification nuclear medicine technology experience teaching students
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current nuclear medicine technology

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
  • Ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions
  • Works accurately with great attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to work at alternative campus/site locations as directed based on student need

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
