Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Shenandoah University's School of Pharmacy is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice. This is a full-time benefited position located on our Health Professions campus in Winchester, Virginia.
This position emphasizes pharmacy practice and patient care in a Community Pharmacy setting located within a health system with an opportunity to develop collaborative relationships with physician offices. The primary clinical responsibilities of the faculty member will be the provision of patient care encompassing a broad range of disease states with an emphasis on chronic diseases, medication management, and may be involved in implementation of test and treatment protocols. The faculty member will also serve as a preceptor for IPPE and APPE students and PGY1 resident(s). Didactic teaching will primarily occur within the School of Pharmacy's therapeutic modules, patient assessment skills, or case-based laboratory courses. Service and scholarship responsibilities will be determined by faculty rank.
Required Experience
The candidate should possess a Pharm.D. degree and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in the State of Virginia. The candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of clinical community pharmacy practice, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to develop and work within innovative pharmacy practice models. A pharmacy practice (PGY1) residency or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience in pharmacy practice is required. Candidates with prior academic experience or additional training (PGY2 or fellowship) are encouraged to apply.
