J.W. Jung Seed Company is an industry leader in mail-order and retail gardening. Jung Seed Company ships thousands of quality seeds, plants and gardening accessories to all 50 states. We have five garden centers in the state of Wisconsin with our corporate headquarters stationed in Randolph, WI. We are seeking motivated individuals to work in our nursery fields located in Randolph, WI.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Potting and planting the items that are sold in our Garden Centers and Catalogs
  • Maintaining nursery stock-hoeing, digging and weeding
  • Monitor plants for healthy growth and potential weed, insect, disease, and fertilizer problems in nursery crops
  • May operate tractors and other machinery and equipment
  • Maintain inventory and order materials as required

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Enjoy working with plants and can provide horticultural/nursery knowledge
  • Some familiarity with plants and have a basic understanding of plant care, harvesting, soil, and water quality
  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • this role also requires a high level of attention to detail to identify when plants are ready for planting or harvesting or need special care and attention
  • must be able to count and keep track of plant inventories
  • Ability to work with a team; be an effective verbal communicator and able to coordinate activities during a shift
  • Can work in environmental conditions determined by the weather
  • Must be able to stand, squat, sit, bend, and reach for extended periods of time.
