Sheet Metal Mechanic

Minimum Qualifications
* Education: High School/ G.E.D preferred but not required
* Years of Experience: 6 months - 1 year of general construction experience
* Certifications: None required
* Driver License: Not required
* Must be self-motivated, open minded, and able to accept constructive criticism
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Soldering experience is a plus (Must be willing to work with Copper/Brass/Stainless/Mild Steel/Aluminum)
* Knowledge of the basic Safety techniques and procedures
* Attention to detail, ability to prioritize task and meet deadlines according to instructions received
* Ability to organize, plan, and execute work assignments
* Interpersonal skills necessary to work on a team
* Ability to read and use tape measure, mark, or record distances
* General basic knowledge of construction materials and tools
* Ability to perform general physical activities
* Ability to identify problems and communicate them to foreman in order to accomplish work
* Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner according to instructions received
Essential Functions
* Clean up debris from work area
* Physical ability to stand and walk, lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularly
* Apply adhesives, caulking, sealants
Physical Demands
* Requires standing up for long periods of time
* Requires seeing details at close range
* Requires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping or crawling
Work Environment
* Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures, includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
* May include exposure to contaminants, hazardous material, or equipment requiring proper PPE
* Mistakes are not easily correctable and have serious consequences, therefore Safety procedures must be followed
* May require exposure to minor burns and cuts requiring proper PPE
