Job Description

Job Title: Radiology Technologist Job Summary:

The Radiology Technologistprovides direct supervision for the technical and support functions of a department within the Cath lab. Coordinates daily operations within their division or department to ensure that patient care services are delivered in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with the hospital mission.

Job Function:
  1. Radiation safety
    1. Selects and operates radiography equipment, imaging and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
    2. Technologist is able to function and operate equipment in emergency situations.
  2. Documentation/Communication
    1. Effective communication with all other departments
    2. Communicates information to patients concerning procedures.
  3. Other duties as assigned.
    1. When requested, adjusts personal schedule to meet department/unit needs.
    2. Reports to work on time, and if necessary, reports tardiness to appropriate person.
    3. Utilizes time to accomplish work in an efficient manner.
    4. Maintains a professional appearance, according to job requirements, at all times.
    5. Employee shall conform to regulatory, customer and organizational requirements.
    6. Attended all required mandatory educational sessions.
    7. Operates equipment and performs job-related duties in a safe manner.
    8. Responds appropriately to fire, safety and disaster situations. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the appropriate manner for optimal personal protection.
    9. Adheres to infection control practices. Has completed required TB skin test(s)
    10. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, Training, Special Skills, and Licensure:

Education: Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

Special Skills: Good interpersonal/human relations skills; Good oral/written communication skills; Good teamwork skills; Good critical thinking/decision making skills; Superior organizational skills.

Cath Lab Experience preferred but not required.

Licensure: Current Louisiana State License - LSRT

In-House Contracts are available for 2 different duration periods:
  • 13-week duration
  • 8-week duration
  • In-House Contract rate is $45.00 per hour base rate.
