As a Radiology Student at UPMC Hamot, you will play a crucial role in supporting our imaging services and assisting our experienced Radiologic Technologists. Your responsibilities will include providing support in the Imaging/Film Library and at the Imaging reception areas, as well as assisting in obtaining quality radiographs for interpretation by physicians.

Provide support help in the Imaging/Film Library as well as at the Imaging reception areas. Assist Staff Radiologic Technologists in obtaining quality radiographs for interpretation by a physician
Responsibilities:
* Recognize and document all pertinent information related to patient care.
* Utilize the RIS and PACS effectively to ensure accurate departmental/system data.
* Communicate any delays to patients and/or family members.
* Obtain quality images while following radiation safety standards and patient protocols.
* Take responsibility for personal performance improvement.
* Provide guidance and direction to patients for changing into a gown.
* Assist Radiologist and Staff Technologists in performing fluoroscopically guided procedures.
* Demonstrate individualized care for each patient.
* Perform efficient image management to include both hard copy and soft copy images.
* Provide images to radiologist for interpretation, as well as service to staff physicians, the department of surgery, radiology staff, and to patients requesting their films.
* Arrive patients, track exams, scan scripts, schedule exams in Imagecast and Rad Assessment.
* Assist in the organization and duties of the reception and file room areas.
Qualifications:
Student of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved training program.
Satisfactory progress in the clinical program is required
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
* Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
