FT evening shift 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm with e/o weekend
* Assists in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects resident rights.
* Administers medications, transcribes orders.
* Intervenes with residents in an high acuity residential respite setting
* Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
* Provides nursing care based on the resident's treatment plan, under the supervision of the registered nurse.
* Assists the resident with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior, when appropriate.
* Provides education as directed on health related topics
* Uses safe and appropriate de-escalation/restraint techniques when needed.
* Schedules appointments with physicians and other healthcare providers
* Accompanies residents to appointments
* Administrative duties such as assisting with staff scheduling
Requirements:
* Graduate of a state accredited school of nursing.
* Current Maryland state licensure as a practical nurse.
* One year experience in medical-surgical nursing, with one additional year of psychiatric nursing preferred.
* Ability to multitask in a stressful environment.
* Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team format.
* Knowledge of Child and Adolescent psych preferred.
* Ability to pass a crisis intervention program that includes physical restraint.
Starting pay based on experience and qualifications.
Evening, Overnight, and Weekend shifts pay an extra shift differential per hour
