Summary:# Under the Direction of the System Director, the Clinicial Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical supervision and and support to master#s level clinicians across CCHP Emergency Departments primarily, but may also include any master#s level clinicians (LCSW) that report to the System Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health (OPBH 01.7220, Emergency Department 01 and 21.6725), and SJHC, CCMA practices, and inpatient BH units as needed. #This role must be filled by an Independently Licensed Clinician to support billing supervision for insurance reimbursement. The Supervisor will also assist with scheduling, ensuring adequate 24/7 coverage is available for both Emergency Departments.# Supervisor will assist with day to day oversight including identifying barriers and offering solutions to bed flow issues across the system, problem identification and solving of barriers to efficient patient throughput, including, but not limted to, ensuring physicians and LIPs are entering orders for labs and assessments in a timely fashion and effectively communicating with clincians when patients are ready to be seen.## Supervisor will also be familiar with levels of care and admission critiera for all BH levels of service including acute inpatient psychiatric treatment, ASAM criteria for detox admission, and criteria for lower levels of care including crisis stabilization units, partial hospital/intensive outpatient, and general outpatient criteria.# Supervisor will be familiar with community resources, social service supports including shelters and domestic violence resources as well be knowledgeable of community programs and treatment providers.## Supervisor will assist with disposition issues or problems returning patients to their respective facilities or programs and escalate to Director as needed.# Supervisor will be a liaison between ED psychiatric provider, ED MD, and ED clinician.# Supervisor will meet with clinicians in order to provide and document supervision sufficient for billing practices specific to Optum Behavioral Health. Manager will review documentation, ensure assessments and follow up evaluations are conducted in a timely manner and documented appropriately and provide reeducation to staff whose documentation is not accurate or timely. #They will particpate in chart audits to ensure TJC standards are met, as well as special projects to meet regulatory standards including Behavioral Health Competencies training. #Performs functions to prevent financial loss to the hospital while ensuring high quality of care for all patients including supervison of clinicians to meet standards. They will provide input, in conjunction with Director, in to performance evaluations and any disciplinary actions. Supervisor will also be expected to provide at least 20 hours a week of clinical services functioning as an ED Behavioral Health Clinician, conducting emergency clinical assessment of patients.# They will convey clinical findings and initial treatment and/or referral recommendations to the Emergency Room provider, collaborate with the ED team and consult with psychiatry to determine options for appropriate level of care.# The incumbent will have working knowledge of insurance prior authorization, medical necessity criteria and ASAM criteria.# They will have the ability to handle crisis situations in a calm and responsible manner; knowledge of psychiatric medications, community resources and alternative levels of care is required. Ability to manage complex situations with multiple variables in a fast paced environment. Education: ### Master#s Degree Social Work, Master#s Degree in Counseling, or other related field Licensure:## Active, Independent Rhode Island Licensure : LICSW or LMHC Experience:## # Minimum of 5-7 years clinical experience in behavioral health (including mental health and substance use disorders).# Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience. Community based knowledge and experience with large systems and resources. Clinical/case management experience with high-risk children, adults and families required. Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform complex professional clinical duties with considerable independence and general guidance. Working knowledge/competence of national standards (i.e. Dept of Health, JCAHO, State Health Regulations, Clinical licensing regulations) Collaborates effectively with community agencies, health care professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to provide the necessary continuum of care. Excellent skills in communication, collaboration and negotiation, organization and priority setting. Ability to work in a matrix organization structure and with peers and other disciplines. Leadership skill in planning, organizing, motivating and directing activities of others. Skills in coaching, educating, mentoring and problem solving. Critical thinking skills. Goal oriented. Knowledge of psychiatric/medical social work or related clinical field. Requires judgement to analyze facts and circumstances and to make independent decisions based on limits of standard or accepted practice. Ability to utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customers. #
