HDS Associate

This position is dependent upon the successful acquisition and retention of grant funding; applicants should be aware that any failure to secure adequate grant funding may result in position elimination.
Under the direct supervision of the HDS Supervisor, the HDS Associate prepares for and participates in developmental and behavioral services as assigned, including associated tasks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to utilizing appropriate age and developmental approach in application of care. Prepares treatment rooms and classrooms for providers, to ensure appropriate tools, resources, and equipment are in available. Collaborates with the Developmental Services Specialist, interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care is provided in a quality environment to children and families. Ability to engage children and families in a culturally sensitive manner. Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED or Foreign equivalent and 12 units of Child Development or combination of education and experiencePreferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or similarMinimum Experience: 6 months of Early Childcare Experience (ECE) or related field; Bilingual English/SpanishPreferred Experience: 1-2 years of Early Childcare Experience (ECE) or related field; Bilingual English/SpanishRequired Certification: American Heart Association recognized BLS - HeartsaverPreferred Certification: Not ApplicableRequired License: Valid Driver's LicensePreferred License: Not Applicable
