The Instrument Technologist will maintain, repair and install instrument equipment within the Trinseo Maintenance Work Process.
This is an onsite position in Midland, MI, Monday-Friday. There is the option of 8 hour workdays, M-F or the "9/80 schedule" - working 80 hours over 9 days, with alternating Fridays off.
Responsibilities
The Instrument Technologist will provide/use Instrument expertise to complete:
* Maintain, repair and install instrument equipment for their area of responsibility.
* Set up and calibrate, test, measure and repair all types of electrical controls, instruments, and electronic variables.
* Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and help document failure analysis.
* Collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
* Make recommendations & assist plant personnel to Reduce plant I/E maintenance costs.
* Assist with building and implementing equipment strategies for instrumentation and other critical instrument systems.
* Follow and participate in plant safety initiatives and policies.
* Periodically respond to off-hours calls for plant support.
Qualifications
* Postsecondary Degree in Instrument Technology or equivalent industry experience required
* Minimum of 5 years Industry experience in the field of Instrument Repair
* Experience with ABB or equivalent required
* Journeyman status strongly preferred.
* Experience and knowledge of current instrument technology.
