Lab Technician

Description:

This Lab/Engineering Technician will provide hand on support to MPE-Materials Process Engineering team to facilitate & help support engineers in a large development group in several areas.

Responsibilities:

+ Examples of work scope would be metallography

+ Running equipment and tests

+ Operating microscopes, scanning electron microscopes

+ Documenting work done in MS word or PowerPoint reports.

+ CAD skills are important as the MPE group evaluates what materials will be selected in the design of engine parts.

+ The job is a mixture of 60% testing in a lab, analyzing samples, and 40% documentation in Excel.

+ Fabricate polymer composites and adhesively bonded test samples

+ Perform lab tests and organize and communicate test data and results.

Requirements:

+ Associates Degree

+ Internship or 6 months plus experience in manufacturing or lab environment

+ Familiarity with polymer composites, adhesives and elastomers is preferred.

+ Proficient in Excel

+ Excellent written & verbal communication skills

+ Excellent organizational skills

+ Mechanical aptitude or ability to work with hand-tools
