What#s it like to work at RRH?:#Nurses | Kern County Hospitals JOB SUMMARY: The Health Information Technician I supports and assists the Health Information Management Department of the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.# This position will require the utilization of established processes to store, retrieve, abstract, analyze, encode, process, transcribe and release patient information.# Medical records may exist in paper or electronic form, and a variety of health record indices and computer databases may be utilized.# Prepares statistical reports, special projects and performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: 1.# High school diploma or equivalent preferred.# 2.# Medical records training and acute care hospital experience preferred. 3.# Knowledge of medical coding systems preferred. 4.# Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology, preferred. 5.# Must demonstrate basic computer and keyboard skills with Microsoft Windows. 6.# Understanding of office systems and procedures. 7.# Must demonstrate maturity and careful judgment. 8.# Must demonstrate good communication, analytical and organizational skills. 9.# Must be a team player and understand team dynamics.
