Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative psychiatrist to join our team in the role of Collaborating Psychiatrist. In this position, you will work closely with Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) to provide comprehensive mental health care services. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in psychiatry, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborative Care: Work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for individuals with mental health disorders.
  2. Consultation: Provide expert consultation to APNs regarding complex psychiatric cases, treatment options, and medication management.
  3. Treatment Planning: Participate in the development and implementation of comprehensive treatment plans for patients, incorporating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
  4. Supervision and Support: Offer supervision and support to APNs, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to deliver high-quality mental health care.
  5. Education and Training: Provide ongoing education and training to APNs on psychiatric best practices, emerging research, and advancements in the field.
  6. Collaborative Decision-Making: Engage in collaborative decision-making processes with APNs to enhance patient outcomes and improve the overall quality of care.
  7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with organizational and legal standards.
  8. Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by actively participating in peer reviews, case conferences, and other relevant forums.

Qualifications:
  1. Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Psychiatry Residency: Completion of a psychiatry residency program and board certification in psychiatry.
  3. Licensure: Current and unrestricted license to practice psychiatry in the relevant jurisdiction.
  4. Collaborative Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  5. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex psychiatric concepts to non-specialists.
  6. Commitment to Patient Care: Dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on improving mental health outcomes.
  7. Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
