PURPOSE OF JOB:

The nurse is responsible for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management, documentation and/or referral activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following:

* Serves as the direct link between physicians, families and community agencies to assure access and continuity of health care of students.
* Provides relevant instruction, counseling and guidance to students, parent, staff and others concerning health-related issues.
* Assists with tube feeding, cauterization, required screenings and record keeping.
* Assists the RN in the toileting and feeding of students with special needs.
* Assists in the personal hygiene of students.
* The LPN upholds standards of the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and other state and local statues and regulations applicable to school nursing practice.
* Adheres to District policies and administrative guidelines.
* Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the State of Missouri
* Professional experience and competencies necessary for beginning practice in school nursing appropriate to the age group of the children in the school assigned.
* Must be Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified
* Must possess CPR and First Aid Current certification

LENGTH OF WORK:

Summer School session June 5 through June 28, 2024 (No school June 19th)

PD June 3rd

Workday June 4th

Must be able to commit to the entire 4 weeks.
