Optometric Technician

Piper Companies is currently seeking an Optometric Technician for an opportunity in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA) to join a local academic institution.

Responsibilities of the Optometric Technician

* Monitor patient flow and clinician activity in EHR for smooth patient care operations.
* Train and evaluate students in patient care procedures, systems, and performance.
* Provide diverse direct patient care services and education in the Specialty Services area.
* Maintain functionality of equipment, stock workstations, rooms, and supplies for patient care activities.

Qualifications of the Optometric Technician

* 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician
* Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required
* Experience with computers, including knowledge of and experience with word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
* Experience with NextGen is highly desired
* Must have own transportation for site traveling
* COA or CPOA certification is preferred

Compensation for the Optometric Technician

* Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.00 / hour
