The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws to assure successful nursing is maintained at all times. Performs routine assigned duties according to specific detailed written procedures. Must assume responsibility and accountability for practical nursing duties performed for a specified group of residents within a designated time period in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act and Henry County Healthcare Center policies under the direction and supervision of an RN or MD. The ages of the residents normally served are adult and geriatric. Must be capable of independent decision making during emergency or unusual situations.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing

Licenses/Certifications: Current LPN License with the State of Tennessee is required.

Experience: New graduates welcome

BLS: All Clinical LPN's:

Employee must obtain Basic Life support (BLS) Certification with 6 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment. Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.

Employee may obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.

Crisis prevention (CPI) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.

Experience:

2 years in Psychiatric or Med-Surgical experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting 50 lbs., walking 3 miles per shift, pushing 300 lbs. Must have full use of both upper (to include hands/fingers) and lower extremities. Must be able to see with corrective eye wear. Must be able to hear with assistive device.
