We are seeking a talented and experienced Contract CT/X-ray Technician to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:We are currently seeking a Contract CT/X-ray Technician to support our esteemed hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CT and X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for our patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a prestigious healthcare environment and contribute to the delivery of world-class patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT and X-ray imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, providing appropriate care and assistance as needed.
- Position patients correctly and accurately to obtain optimal images, following radiation safety guidelines and best practices.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review images, identify abnormalities, and assist in patient diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging files, and equipment logs in compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on CT and X-ray equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies as necessary.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols, to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
- Current certification and registration as a CT Technician (ARRT-CT) or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CT or X-ray Technician in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Proficiency in operating CT and X-ray equipment, including knowledge of advanced imaging techniques and protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and physicians.
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in patient care.
- Availability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
