Job Summary:
Responsible for supervising licensed clinicians and oversight of intern and graduate. Responsible for evaluating individual and family needs after receiving a diagnosis and create a custom treatment plan. Provides individual, couples, and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills.
Provides high quality, short-term, evidence-based clinical, therapeutic, and consultative services via telehealth to prevent, assess, evaluate, and treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in child and adolescent patients and their family members in TCHATT (Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine). TCHATT is an initiative of the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC), created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address child and adolescent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in the state of Texas.
TCHATT is a virtual program however, this position would require the selected candidate to have the capability to travel to campus weekly, if needed.
Job Duties:
1. Provides supervision for licensed therapist and provisionally licensed clinicians Responsible for clinical supervision and oversight of clinical activities for interns and Master's Level counseling students in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Attending Physicians or faculty members overseeing the program.
2. Provides individual, couples, and/or family therapy to improve mental health, resiliency, and coping skills.
3. Performs counseling, evaluation, treatment, and plan, using evidence-based practices.
4. Creates individualized treatment plans according to each patient's unique needs and circumstances. Will review the progress toward goals and adjust the treatment plan as agreed upon by the patient.
5. Assures continuity of care, conveys assessment findings, and implements therapeutic plans.
6. Completes documentation and safety plans according to program policies and prepares reports and other documentation in accordance with good clinical practice and institutional standards.
7. Connects families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve quality of life.
8. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and participates in case consultation to provide comprehensive care, and coordinates with family members as needed to engage patients in care.
9. Identifies obstacles to optimal patient care, risk reduction, and health promotion.
10. Performs crisis interventions as needed.
11. Develops innovative support and community engaging programs for caregivers and patients to promote mental health and encourage involvement in programs.
12. Facilitates and leads various therapeutic and support groups for patients and caregivers.
13. Formulates candid and supportive communication.
14. Facilitates effective problem solving and conflict resolution.
15. Participates in program evaluation activities including, but not limited to data collection for program funding, reporting, patient satisfaction surveys, and other activities as needed.
16. Performs administrative duties for supervised clinicians and outreach as assigned.
17. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Master's degree in Psychology or related degree is required. Experience cannot be substituted for degree.
Experience:
Five (5) years post licensure experience is required. Two (2) years leading, or supervisory experience is required. Previous experience with child/adolescents and experience supervising master level students/graduates preferred.
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
Licensed Professional Counselor LPC is required. TX State clinical supervisor designation (LPCS) is required.
