POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Perioperative Services provides leadership and management to the multifaceted entities within the Perioperative Department. #Reporting to the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Director works collaboratively with the Surgical Governance Council to evaluate and allocate available resources to promote efficient and effective operations, assure equipment needs are met, maintain operations within budgetary margins and assure staff and medical staff understand regulatory compliance and that quality measures are met. The Director of Perioperative Services coordinates activities between the Perioperative defined areas and provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. The Director serves as a link between perioperative personnel, medical staff and other health care disciplines throughout the organization. The Director of Perioperative Services contributes to the hospital planning process, policy and procedure development, day-to-day operations, and attainment of organizational goals. The Director collaborates with leadership, physicians, and staff, in organizational planning, implementation, and evaluation. QUALIFICATION EDUCATION: A Master#s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Management is strongly preferred. A Bachelor#of Science for Nursing is required. EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS: Minimum 4 years of OR experience#is required. Progressive management experience is required. Demonstrated communication, leadership and problem-solving skills that support effective collaborative relationships with nurses, physicians, management teams, and patients and families. Demonstrated understanding of surgical quality measures and fiscal responsibility. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S): Registered Nurse, currently licensed/eligible to be licensed by the State of Vermont. CNOR#certification encouraged. OR Management Certification required. Current CPR certification. ACLS required.
