Description

Job Description- Non CDL Delivery Professional

The primary function of this position includes but is not limited to drive a truck and manually unload, using a hand truck, various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies) to customers while providing excellent customer service. All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Essential Duties Include
  • Perform all pre-trip responsibilities including completing required trailer temperature checks and performing pre-trip safety check inspections of trucks and trailers according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Drive and deliver customer orders to meet the scheduled customer times and maintain adequate productivity rate to meet delivery windows.
  • Consistently monitor refrigeration system on truck for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures.
  • Visually survey customer's site during the approach to determine hazards.
  • Verify delivery of correct items. Collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Return truck to Ace Endico when route is completed.
  • Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company policies.

Education/Training:
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language as it relates to the job and safety requirements.
  • Able to hold a conversation.
  • Understand highway traffic signs and signals.
  • Respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.
  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to work with money collected from customers to ensure the amount collected matches the invoiced amount.

Job Knowledge and Skills
  • Must be able to work the assigned schedule including various early morning start times.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
  • No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations. No more than one of these may be a serious (as defined by DOT) violation or result of an accident - company or private vehicle; No DUI convictions within past three years, regardless of type of vehicle operated; no driver's license suspension within past three years (insurance and overweight tickets are excluded); and no termination by previous employer for failure to comply with safety regulations or for accident involvement for the past three years.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and extreme/inclement weather conditions. Temperatures range from below zero to 95• F or above outdoors. Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lifts, pushes, or moves products that weigh 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds, using safe lifting practices.
  • Constantly bends and twists (in a safe manner) while loading and unloading products and retrieving items from trailer.
  • Able to work in extreme/inclement weather conditions.

Schedule: Monday-Friday from 10:30-4:30pm
