Job Description
RN-Nephrology performs at a competent level of nursing practice and according to the standards of practice for the area. Performs patient care and service through a multidisciplinary team approach. RN- Nephrology performs bedside dialysis for acutely ill dialysis patients. RN- Nephrology works directly with hospital nursing staff to ensures complete care for our Kidney Disease Community. Functions to maintain an environment of competence, caring and concern for patients and staff members.

Department: Nephrology Clinic

Hours: Full-time; 4,10's 7am-5:30pm with rotating weekend/holiday call

Required: Active RN license, ADN, and BLS & ACLS within 90 days of hire

Pay based on applicable experience; starting at $32.10

Responsibilities
Accepts reassignment, at the direction and discretion of management, as applicable to staffing levels and patient volumes , Accepts reassignment, at the direction and discretion of management, as applicable to staffing levels and patient volumes , Accepts reassignment, at the direction and discretion of management, as applicable to staffing levels and patient volumes, including to all areas in cardiology where training has occurred and competency has been established., Administers medication as directed by the provider, may provide intravenous therapy., Administers medications as prescribed and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness., Applies the nursing process to patients and family education to promote patient's compliance with the plan of care across the continuum. , Assesses, collaborates and documents patient/family's basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family., Assesses based on patient's communication of information, existing signs and symptoms, current patient data and nursing knowledge. Recognizes normal and abnormal finding when gathering data., Assesses daily assigned patient care needs and collaborates with direct and ancillary patient care staff as needed., Assessment- Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data. , Assists providers with patient exams/ treatments/procedures., Cleans/stocks exam rooms/work spaces on an on-going basis to assure that there is an adequate supply. Performs all tasks related to stocking and cleaning in adherence to regulatory and system infection control policies/protocols. This includes responsibility for discarding outdated items and labeling multi-dose vials with date and initial opened and then discarding them per guidelines. , Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments based on needs of the practice. Performs tasks and documents them in alignment with infection control regulations and system policies/protocols., Coordination of Care- Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients., Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues., Directs and provides safe effective patient care for assigned patients as prescribed for all modality specific treatment procedures., Documents appropriate data/information. Keeps providers aware of patient requests, needs and observations made that could be of value to the provider's assessment, care and follow-up., Documents appropriate data/information.
