Summary

* The Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including: in center and home sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The Polysomnography Tech I is eligible and will be required to take and pass the Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologist exam after 18 months in the field of Sleep Medicine (refer to RPSGT Eligibility pathways). This position is employed by Mosaic Life Care.

Duties

* Supervises the technical operation of clinical work; directs related clerical activity; plans and helps develop training, and programs.
* Performs all Tech duties.
* Performs difficult or unusual recording procedures.
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* H.S. Diploma or GED - Emphasis on physical or biologic sciences is required OR Associate's Degree is preferred.
* Allied Health Care Certification with 18 months experience in Clinical setting required. BLS - Basic Life Support is required. RPSGT eligible within 18 months. However must sit for the boards within 2 months of completing their 18 month on the job training period. Successful passage of the boards is required. Transfer to Polysomnography II after 18 months of employment and verified passage of examination by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT).
* 18 months of clinical experience is required.
