Description

New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.

As a Recovery Support Technician your responsibilities will include:

* Assists in the daily course of treatment for new and existing clients presenting for services
* Taking and recording client vital signs
* Monitoring clients on close observation, according to protocol
* Appropriately utilize verbal and physical intervention techniques
* Guides and participates in client therapy in a safe and structured setting
* Readily develops and establishes therapeutic relationships with clients
* Prepares written documentation and record-keeping for assigned clients
* Transports clients to and from area hospitals for medical clearance, and to other facilities for placement
* Provides assistance to clients who present for services
* Assemble new charts properly , Check for completeness of paperwork, Ensure clients belongings are checked in according to protocol, Effectively communicate client rights and responsibilities upon admission

Requirements

New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:

* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Have a Valid Florida Driver's License with 6 points or less in the last 5 years
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions
* Must be able to apply Therapeutic Effective Aggression Management Techniques without limitations.

Salary Description

$15.00 per hour
