New Orleans, United States Loyola University New Orleans Full time

Description

The mission of the Canizaro Center for Catholic Studies is to provide Catholic formation and ministry primarily to Loyola's undergraduate community. In addition, it seeks to strengthen the Catholic identity of the university through academic and formational programs and classes for students, faculty and staff, including an undergraduate interdisciplinary minor. A key

component of Catholic Studies is that it provides the space for the building of a community centered around Catholic faith and culture for both Catholic and non-Catholic students, as well as leadership opportunities in service to Loyola and the broader New Orleans community. All Catholic Studies' staff participate in this mission to varying degrees, according to their primary

responsibility. This position is unique that it is a full-time position that includes a part-time extraordinary faculty appointment. implementing the weekly Catholic Studies night programs and organizing retreats and service opportunities. The job requires this individual to work as a member of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team of three full-time employees. As a member of the Canizaro Center staff, this person would also represent the center at both university events, and events that would

provide opportunities for outreach and networking in the greater New Orleans community. This person would also be the main contact for many of our guest speakers and service partners, requiring good, professional, interpersonal skills. Other duties would be negotiated as needed, and also based upon the particular skill set of the person hired for this position. A

"ministry of presence" to the students, collaborators, volunteers and benefactors is also integral to the work. A working knowledge of and enthusiasm for Loyola's Catholic and Jesuit identity is also essential and should be apparent in the fulfillment of the varied duties of the position.
