Women's Basketball Assistant Coach

Job Summary:

Wingate University is searching for a Women's Basketball Assistant Coach to provide student-athletes with the opportunity and encouragement to progress toward the degree of their choice, and the opportunity to develop their athletic abilities in an environment consistent with the high standards of academic scholarship, leadership and spiritual growth as set forth in the University statement of purpose. assist the head coach in the daily management in all phases of the women's basketball program while providing a positive experience and learning environment for our student-athletes. To conduct one's self with high moral character in all coaching and recruiting duties. The candidate will be directly responsible for team oversight and assistance in day-to-day operations in the area of sports performance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assists head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
* Assists in recruitment of potential student-athletes, coordinate campus visits and communication with recruits, coaches and parents.
* Remain compliant with all appropriate Wingate University, South Atlantic Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
* Create scouting reports for assigned opponents.
* Coordinate Future Bulldog Day
* Academic monitoring of assigned players
* Responsible for maintaining all CARA logs for compliance
* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by head coach.

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred
* At least two years of experience as a student athlete and / or collegiate coaching experience or two years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to work effectively in a diverse workplace, with a variety of teams, coaches, sports medicine and nutrition professionals, and support staff
* The candidate must also possess strong organizational and communications skills
* Knowledge of applicable team or individual sports and playing rules.
* Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Foster a cooperative work environment.
* Knowledge of NCAA student-athlete academic eligibility requirements and knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules.
* Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise
