Who you are:

As an Assistant Teacher for St Peter's Home Child Care Center (part of Catholic Medical Center), you will play a vital role in implementing daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans, contributing to the creation of a positive and nurturing classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness, assisting with sanitization procedures, managing classroom behaviors, and collaborating with other staff members to uphold a professional work atmosphere.

This is a per diem position, variable hours depending on department needs.

What you'll do:

* Collaborate with lead and associate teachers to implement engaging lesson plans that promote children's development.
* Ensure a clean and orderly classroom, including regular disinfecting and sanitization to create a safe space for children.
* Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviors through effective guidance techniques such as redirection, balanced activities, planned transitions, and logical consequences.
* Work with other staff to create a positive work environment, role model healthy interactions, and seek guidance from administration when needed.
* Monitor and ensure that child/teacher ratios adhere to state guidelines, reporting any concerns immediately to administration.
* Maintain 18 or 12 hours of training as required by the state of NH, including current CPR and First Aid certification, to stay updated on best practices and classroom-related skills.
* Perform similar or related duties as assigned or requested, showcasing flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the educational environment.
