Pittsburgh, United States University of Pittsburgh Full time
Will conduct home-based intervention visits on a weekly basis; caseload will be approximately 10-15 families each week. Will employ the evidence-based model, the Family Check-Up for families with expectant parents and parents of children ages birth to 5 years old. Goals of the program include: improving parenting skills and involvement in their children's lives, promoting parental well-being and social support, and reducing risk of child behavioral and emotional problems. To be eligible, families will be facing multiple levels of adversity, including economic, family (e.g., depression), and/or child (e.g., early irritability, disruptive behavior) challenges.

Must attain certification in the Family Check-Up, which includes being comfortable carrying out a family-based intervention with low-income, high-risk families. The Family Check-Up is a home visitation model; services are provided virtually during pandemic surges and in the home as the pandemic eases, with a preference for in-person services when possible. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. High level of analytical skill is critical. Comfort with video recording sessions is essential for the provision of video-based feedback to parents and for fidelity monitoring of the intervention. For onboarding and support with the Family Check-Up model, all new Family Interventionists are required to work in-person, at the office at Sennott Square 3 days per week during their first 90 days, with an increase in flexibility after that based on work performance.
